Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles 3: Age of Mutation takes place shortly after the Turtle brothers finally became accepted as heroes in New York City. Things become far more dangerous when a brilliant but twisted scientist named Dr. Malakar emerges from hiding. Once a former TCRI genetic engineer, Malakar believes mutation is the next stage of evolution and plans to transform humanity by force. Using an upgraded mutagen called Omega Ooze, he creates terrifying hybrid creatures that rapidly evolve during battle. Some mutants gain uncontrollable powers, while others lose their minds completely. Malakar sees the Turtles as the perfect final subjects for his experiments and becomes obsessed with capturing them alive.
As New York falls deeper into panic, Raphael wants to fight Malakar directly, while Leonardo insists on protecting civilians first.
