The Chronicles of Narnia: The Silver Chair brings audiences back into the magical world of Narnia with a darker, more mysterious tone than its predecessors. The story centers on Eustace Scrubb, now older and wiser after his previous adventures, and his schoolmate Jill Pole, who is unexpectedly drawn into Narnia alongside him. Their search eventually takes them into the Underland, a dark and eerie realm beneath Narnia. Here, they discover the truth: Prince Rilian is being held captive by the Lady of the Green Kirtle, a powerful sorceress who uses enchantment and deception to control him. She manipulates reality itself, attempting to convince the children that the world above—Narnia, Aslan, and even the sun—does not exist.
In one of the film’s most intense moments, Rilian briefly breaks free from the spell, only to beg them to bind him again before the enchantment returns. The group must decide whether to trust him, knowing the risks. In the end, it is Puddleglum’s quiet bravery that breaks the spell, as he defies the sorceress’s illusions and reminds them of the truth they carry within.
The final act unfolds in a dramatic escape from the Underland, culminating in the defeat of the sorceress and the liberation of Prince Rilian.
