Decades after the last disaster in Antarctica, a multinational research team is sent to investigate strange seismic signals beneath a newly exposed glacier. Climate shifts have uncovered a section of ice untouched for thousands of years, revealing fragments of an old station buried beneath layers of frozen rock. The mission begins as a scientific operation, but the silence of the region immediately feels wrong, as if something has been waiting beneath the ice for far too long.
The team includes climatologists, engineers, and a former military rescue pilot assigned only for emergency extraction. On the second night, drilling equipment breaks through a sealed chamber hidden under the glacier. Inside they find damaged equipment from an earlier expedition and biological remains that do not fully match any known species. What appears dead at first begins changing once brought inside the station.

Soon after, one researcher disappears during a storm, and another returns acting strangely calm despite freezing conditions that should have killed him. Small details begin unsettling the crew — voices repeated perfectly, memories shared by people who should not know them, and injuries healing far too quickly. Fear spreads because nobody can be certain who is still human.
As communication with the outside world fails, the station divides into groups driven by suspicion. Blood tests are attempted again, but the organism has evolved beyond earlier behavior, learning faster and hiding more carefully inside living tissue. One infected crew member transforms violently during an argument, proving the threat is active and capable of imitating people almost perfectly.

The surviving scientists discover that the creature is not merely trying to survive this time — it is building something beneath the station using stolen machinery and organic material. Deep below the ice, they find a partially formed biological structure connected to old frozen remains, suggesting the organism is preparing to spread far beyond Antarctica once transport becomes possible.
In the final hours, a fire tears through the station while survivors attempt to destroy both the research base and the hidden structure below it. Explosions collapse the glacier, but not before one final figure escapes into the storm alone. The film ends with a rescue aircraft arriving days later, spotting a single survivor waving in the snow — yet when the pilot looks closer, the smile does not look human. 🔥❄️
