Anaconda 5: The Forest Predator (2025) pushes the creature-horror franchise into a darker, more feral territory as the legendary giant snakes resurface in a remote rainforest long believed to be untouched by human interference. The story begins when a research team, led by biologist Dr. Tessa Holloway, ventures into the dense Barruka Forest to study unusually rapid plant mutations detected through satellite imaging. Their peaceful expedition quickly turns deadly when they discover the mutilated remains of a poaching group, torn apart with a violence reminiscent of the original anaconda attacks — only this time, the bite patterns suggest something faster, stronger, and far more territorial.
Tessa and her team soon uncover the truth: a new breed of anaconda, born from decades of illegal genetic experiments carried out by a clandestine bio-weapon’s division. These snakes are designed to adapt, camouflage, and hunt with near-pack-like coordination. While the project was supposedly shut down after a containment breach, the engineered snakes survived, multiplied, and claimed the Barruka Forest as their domain. Now, with the forest’s ecosystem shifting and local tribes disappearing, the predators have grown bolder and begun expanding their hunting range.

Complications escalate when a private military contractor arrives, sent to erase all evidence of the failed experiment. Led by the ruthless Colonel Varrick, the squad intends to neutralize the snakes by burning the forest, even if it means sacrificing the scientists. Tessa refuses to abandon the surviving locals and fights to prevent the forest from becoming a scorched wasteland. Her only ally within the squad is Jace Mercer, a tracker who realizes that Varrick’s plan will only drive the creatures into populated regions.
As the group pushes deeper into the forest seeking an extraction point, the genetically enhanced anacondas stalk them from the canopy, using their environment with terrifying precision. Tunnels collapse, dense vines tighten like traps, and the darkness seems alive with movement. One by one, Varrick’s men are taken, their weapons useless against the serpents’ speed and cunning. Tessa discovers that the snakes are protecting a massive nest, where the next generation — even larger and more aggressive — is preparing to hatch.

The climax erupts in a desperate nighttime battle as Tessa, Jace, and the remaining survivors attempt to destroy the nest before the creatures spread beyond the forest. Fire, collapsing trees, and the largest alpha anaconda yet seen turn the escape into a frantic struggle for survival. The nest is ultimately destroyed, but the final scene reveals a surviving juvenile slipping into a river, hinting that the forest’s deadliest predator is far from extinct.
