Logan: Last Stand (2025) returns to a world where mutants remain on the brink of extinction, but whispers of new survivors have begun to surface. Logan, older and further worn by time, has retreated into a remote region of northern Canada, believing he has outlived his purpose. His healing factor is unstable, his strength inconsistent, and the adamantium poisoning he once slowed is now accelerating. Even so, he clings to a quiet life until a mysterious young mutant arrives at his cabin, claiming she was sent by Laura.
The girl, calling herself Rena, possesses a rare mutation capable of disrupting electronic systems, making her a target for a resurrected military program known as Helix Division—an organization determined to rebuild the mutant suppression technology once used by Transigen. Rena reveals that Laura and other surviving children were ambushed, and Laura herself is missing. Forced from isolation, Logan reluctantly agrees to protect the girl, though his body resists the demands of another fight.

Their journey south uncovers a secret: Helix Division has turned Laura into the template for a new generation of hybrid soldiers, combining mutant DNA with bio-engineered enhancements. Logan’s guilt deepens as he realizes Laura tried to find him before she was taken. Along the way, Logan and Rena encounter fugitive mutants who survived scattered raids—broken, frightened, and suspicious, yet still dreaming of a future where their kind can rise again.
As Logan pushes forward, he confronts his fading strength and the ghosts of those he failed. The bond between him and Rena grows stronger, mirroring the connection he once had with Laura. Rena’s uncontrolled abilities begin to evolve into something more dangerous, forcing Logan to become not just her protector but her mentor, even as he questions whether he can keep her safe.

The final act brings Logan face-to-face with the Helix Commander, a ruthless scientist obsessed with perfecting mutant weaponry. Laura, partially controlled by neural implants, is forced to fight Logan, creating a brutal and emotional confrontation. Logan chooses mercy, sacrificing himself to free Laura from the implant’s hold, allowing her to regain control long enough to destroy the facility.
As Logan lies dying, Laura promises to lead the remaining mutants to safety and protect Rena as he once protected her. His final moments are quiet—no rage, no battle cry, just the peaceful acknowledgment that his fight is finally over. The film ends with mutants beginning a new exodus, guided by Laura, carrying Logan’s legacy into an uncertain future but refusing to let hope die with him.
