Anaconda 5: Queen of the Jungle (2025) pushes the creature-horror franchise into its most intense territory yet, following a new expedition that ventures deep into an untouched corner of the Amazon known as the Green Abyss. The film begins with a group of wildlife geneticists traveling upriver to investigate reports of abnormally large serpents and unexplained disappearances near an isolated research camp. Though the mission is presented as a scientific survey, several members quickly suspect their corporate sponsor has darker motives.
Upon arriving at the camp, the team finds it abandoned, with equipment overturned and emergency beacons still flashing. Strange claw marks slash across metal containers, and the jungle around the camp feels unnaturally silent. Dr. Elena Ramirez, the expedition’s herpetologist, notices signs of territorial behavior unseen in any known anaconda species. Their unease grows when they discover a series of underground tunnels carved through the soil, each far wider than any normal serpent could create.

As they push deeper into the rainforest, the group encounters the truth: a colossal, jet-black anaconda known by local tribes as the Queen of the Jungle. More than a mutation, she is the apex predator of a hidden ecosystem, fiercely intelligent and fiercely protective. The researchers also find evidence that the previous team had attempted to capture her offspring for experimentation, provoking the Queen’s ruthless retaliation. Now, with fresh intruders in her territory, the jungle itself feels alive with her presence.
Tension mounts as the Queen stalks the team with patience and precision. Nighttime brings low, rhythmic vibrations through the ground—her way of communicating with her brood. One by one, the expedition members are picked off, dragged into the foliage before anyone can react. The corporate representative, driven by greed, tries to capture one of the snake hatchlings, inadvertently triggering the Queen’s full fury and revealing the company’s plan to weaponize the serpent’s regenerative traits.

Dr. Ramirez, determined to protect the natural balance of the rainforest, leads the remaining survivors into the heart of the Green Abyss. There they discover a hidden lagoon where the Queen’s nest glows beneath bioluminescent vines, creating an eerie, ancient atmosphere. Ramirez realizes that destroying the Queen would also doom her delicate ecosystem, but leaving her alive means the world must never learn what lies here.
The climax erupts in a desperate struggle at the edge of the lagoon, where human instincts collide with the Queen’s primal wrath. In the end, the survivors must choose between escaping with the truth or burying it forever in the jungle’s endless shadows, where the Queen of the Jungle reigns unseen and undefeated.
